Do you dream of weed free, nutrient rich, living fertilizer? Come learn how to build awesome compost at the Bullocks’. Food Masters is offering a class on making great compost.
The class will be held Monday June 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $30 or ask about work trade opportunities, by calling Learner Limbach at 376-4048.
This class will include:
- an introduction by Jane Campbell to compost
- theory and our hot pile method;
- a hands-on compost build;
- an introduction to compost sprays with James Most.
Highlights are:
- insight into soil biology;
- the soil foodweb;
- how to boost vitality with compost;
- compost spray applications in your garden and orchard.
Participants are welcome to bring contributions from their own land.
The more diversity we add to a pile, the more diverse our compost
biology will be!
Suggested contributions:
- a jar of soil from under a deciduous tree
- dried leaves
- weeds/ green leaves
- wood chips
- livestock poop/ whey
*Quantity: we can include anything from a jar to a 5 gallon bucket.
The primary supplies will be provided onsite.
