Erden Eruc, one of the leading ocean rowers in the world today, holding 16 Guinness World Records Erden will kick-off the Endurance series presented by the Orcas Island Library this Sunday at noon by Zoom meeting. Erden will join us from Hawaii, a waypoint on the unprecedented Westbound Row he started June 22, 2021.
The Westbound Row will be the first ever unassisted mainland-to-mainland row crossing of the Pacific Ocean between the Americas and Asia. Starting from Crescent City, CA, Erden will pass south of Oahu, before going towards the Luzon Strait and completing his journey in Hong Kong. Erden estimates he will cover 7800 Nautical Miles in about 10 months. WIth luck, Erden will close our Endurance series by Zoom meeting from China in the spring! Track Erden’s progress here!
