It’s the 20th Annual Kaleidoscope Pet Parade this Saturday!

What started twenty years ago as a small rag-tag group of kids and parents walking down the street with their pets has become one of Orcas’ best loved parades (and Orcas has a lot of parades!) With animals ranging in size from bugs to horses, hundreds of kids and proud parents (of the kids and/or of the pets), many in exotic and creative costumes, will take an animated walk from the public school, down Prune Alley and back up North Beach to the Village Green, where everyone involved will be honored. Businesses from throughout the community have sponsored awards like “best fed”, “most aerodynamic” and “star of the show”.

You can join the parade with your pet(s) by registering at the public school at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, May 29. Or just come out and watch the action! The parade starts at 11 a.m. sharp.

The business sponsorships and donations made at registration support Kaleidoscope, which provides a high quality preschool and childcare environment serving many of our hard working families who are the backbone of our community.
