Once again, the weather cooperated for the 57th Annual Library Fair, with only a brief sprinkle before blue skies took over.
This year’s Library Fair was actually held at the Library and commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the new Library building constructed in 1993.
The highlight of the event, the annual book sale, had book stalls briefly packed to the brim for sale in the parking lot of the library before voracious readers swept in. The book sale, which directly benefits the library brought in $12,000, which at $1-$2 a book is a lot of books to change hands. Private vendors also lined up and down Rose Street.
Considering that this is the first year that the Library Fair has been held at the Library, as opposed to taking place at the Village Green, there was a great turnout. “It exceeded our expectations,” said Phil Heikkinen, Library Director.
