Kathi Ciskowski will lead a 2-session course, Introduction to Genealogy and Family History, on Thursdays, May 5 and May 12, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Library meeting room.

The course will focus on a few simple ways to get started in the search for your ancestors using free, easily available resources.  Participants are asked to bring their own laptop computer if they have one, their Orcas Island library card, and the full name of a United States relative living between 1920 and 1930 for research purposes.  A basic knowledge of how to navigate a laptop computer is preferred.

The cost is $15 for the two sessions, and the class limit is 10 students.  Please visit the library to register.  Please contact Nita Couchman at the Library, 376-4985, for more information.
