The wind blew in about noon. It took out power for awhile. It left parts of Eastsound landlines without a connection to 911.
If you have a cell, calling 911 will still work.
If you have a landline, you will need to call 360-378-4141 to reach the emergency dispatch center for police and fire.
The high winds are expected to continue until about 5 p.m. today and pick up again after midnight.
