— from Leith Templin —
A small group of old islanders gathered earlier this week to acknowledge the history and stewardship of over 100 years of our family property before the construction begins at the new OPAL project.

I love that you gathered there and documented the occasion! I love that you’re honoring the past and marking the land’s transformation into its new role as home for many more island families.
What a wonderful group of Orcas representatives!
With all the new people living on Orcas now, how refreshing to see a photo of names and faces I know . But what is even more refreshing, is to see how these long time residents support the changes that have to occur such as affordable housing. We may not need to have a airport to support Jets but we do need to have a house where families can call home.
