It is time for the annual Orcas all-kid talent show, Whale of a Show on Saturday, September 24 at 6:30 pm at Orcas Center. Directed by Didier Gincig and crew, this annual event is an opportunity to see our talented Island youth (ages 3 to 18) perform on the big stage. Didier and his daughter Emilie have hosted the show since its inception almost a decade ago.
The enthusiastic audience experience for young performers encourages and supports their talents which include singing, dancing, skits, and musicianship. Family acts are included too. Several performers have been participating for years while for some this is their very first time on stage.
“We see these kids as they grow up, perfect their craft, and get better every year.” Whale of a Show offers the opportunity for children to become comfortable on stage in front of an audience. We do all we can to help them be at ease while on stage,” says Didier.
Gincig adds, “There will be a lot of new and and talented children and family acts. Dancing, singing, silks, wonderful instrumentals, and surprises. These kids have been working hard on their acts and look forward to a full house.”
Orcas Center and Didier’s crew appreciate the support from the community by way of an enthusiastic audience. It’s fun for us all to watch these children perform and almost as much fun to see who shows up in the audience to support the talented youngsters. Come enjoy and support your friends and neighbor.! All ticket proceeds benefit Orcas Center’s youth programs.
Tickets for Whale of a Show are $8. Tickets may only be purchased on the Orcas Center website or by calling 376-2281 ext 1 or visiting the Orcas Center box office during box office hours which are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12-2 pm.
