exchangehalloween-poster_web-v02Have you noticed? There’s quite a bit of trash out there folks… ORS has decided to put on the first ever post-summer “Halloween Clean-Up” on Saturday October 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m!

Volunteers are encouraged to meet ORS board and staff at the Stage On The Green in Eastsound. You will be assigned a stretch of road that needs work, and provided with all the garbage bags, latex gloves, and road safety equipment you need.If you prefer to clean up a public road in your own neck of the woods, bring your trash to the Green by 3 p.m. for free collection thanks to San Juan Sanitation and San Juan County Public Works.

There will be prizes for kids, and prizes for adults in the form of drink tickets for the Clean-up Report at Island Hoppin’ Brewery afterwards!

If you want to be a volunteer organizer, team leader or register a crew in advance, send an email to info@exchangeorcas.org or call 376-4089 and we will get you all set up!

Not on Orcas? Check with your local solid waste management team to see what they are doing that day.

The Great Islands Clean-Up (GICU) is a County-wide event that takes place in the Spring every year, and is scheduled for April 2017.
