— from Lin McNulty, Actors Theater —
Hiding somewhere on our small green island could there be a living room, or at least some furniture from a living room, that might just be considered to be in the “desert regency” style?
Coming to the Grange stage in November is an Actors Theater of Orcas Island (ATOI) production entitled “Other Desert Cities,” with a set screaming for “desert regency” style.
The staff and cast currently in rehearsal for this excellent play are asking islanders to look around in their homes to see if there might be something that could be borrowed by Actors Theater for the production.
Specifically, ATOI is looking for:
- Couch or sectional
- Coffee or end table(s)
- Dining table and chairs
Please contact Lin McNulty or Lynda Sanders if you find something.

Lyn, My apologies as I don’t know what you mean by “desert regency style”. We have a sofa you can have if you want. It sits low and is 90″ long. It is covered in a red and green plaid. We do not need it to be returned!
Let me know if this might work for you. I can send you a photo via your email.
