— from Nicole Spinogatti for Funhouse Commons —

About a month ago community volunteer Scott Miller approached The Funhouse having heard about its 3D printer.

At the same time, Program Director Liz Doane was working on finding unique ways to support critical community needs and searching for CDC approved printable face shield designs.

The two teamed up! The Funhouse printed the shield component and Scott provided the rest of the materials to make complete, easy to use kits. It takes around 6 hours for the 3D printer to complete one shield.

Scott has already delivered kits to interested local healthcare providers, and The Funhouse dropped off kits to the Sheriff’s Office and the Food Bank. Scott and Liz will continue talking with healthcare and essential service providers as well as Fire & Rescue to assess community needs.
