Iris on display at Charlie Carver’s garden

Charlie Carver, Chair of the American Iris Society National Collections Program, is opening his iris garden in Victorian Valley for an ice cream social and plant sale benefit for FRIENDS of the San Juans on Sunday, May 31 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Charlie, who is also on the Board of Directors of FRIENDS, currently grows over 1,600 varieties of iris in a wide range of classes, with more than 50% of them being historic iris (many of which are quite rare, gathered from private collections all over North America and Europe) plus hundreds of Charlie’s own open pollinated seedlings.

The plant sale will offer iris, daylilies and perennials along with a few shrubs.

Please RSVP to Katie at katie@sanjuans.org or 360-378-2319 for event details.
