This is the time of the year to fill out and send in your membership dues for the Friends of the Orcas Island Library (FOIL) 2011.  Your donation makes a difference in the amount we can do for the Library.

If you have been involved with any of the events and/or items listed below, you have had a personal experience with the offerings of this fine institution.  Please consider becoming a Friend of the Library  by filling out a Membership Form and sending a check.  Forms are in the library or will be coming in the mail to some residents.

  • You’ve checked out a book, or requested a book of your choice.
  • You’ve attended one or more author visits.
  • Your child is involved in the Children’s Reading Program
  • You’ve checked out one or more CDs from the new display case.
  • You’ve visited the library during their new Sunday hours.
  • You’ve received a student internship.
  • Someone in your family has been involved in the Summer Reading Program.
  • Someone in your family has trick or treat’ed for a new book.
  • Someone in your family is part of the Elementary School Book Club
  • You’ve been to one or more adult Programs.
  • Your appreciation for poetry has increased during Poetry Month in April.

The Friends’ contribution to these projects came from our $17,000 grant in 2010 and our $14,000 grant for 2011.
