Carol Ann Anderson has been acquiring skills for a lifetime: sewing, knitting and crocheting from her grandmother, drawing/ painting skills and aesthetics from her fashion illustrator mom, knitting Fair Isle style sweaters from her American Field Services hosts in the Faroe Islands as a teenager, jewelry making with Navajo Indians in Winslow, Arizona, and photographic skills learned in school and practiced over a lifetime of world travel.

Carol’s art can be seen at local fairs, her ETSY shop, her Facebook page, and on her website.

She has participated in many juried art exhibits and fairs, however, prefers to spend her time working to promote art and art education in the community through her outreach.

Originally from Seattle, Fred has been a painter and sculptor for many years; he carved the Rosario sign in the late ‘60s. Since moving to Orcas in 1980, he has had several group and one-man shows at the Orcas Center. One of his shows featured paintings and mixed media works from his 2 years in German, Spain and Italy.

Fred’s been very involved with the public school system, serving on the school board for four year as well as being a substitute teacher 6 years, member of C.A.B., a volunteer for P.I.P., Ready to Learn and running the Mentor project.
