The Orcas Island Historical Museum on North Beach Road, now open Wednesdays through Sundays

The Orcas Island Historical Museum will receive all proceeds from the “Heritage Harvest Feast” at Red Rabbit Farm on October 4. The farm-to-table family style dinner will be served by noted Orcas Island chef and restauranteur Christina Orchid.

The island’s history and heritage will be featured at the fundraiser, organized by Michele Wiley. Local foods from our orchards, farms and waters will make up the menu. Historical Society Board Members and local historians will speak ex tempore. There will also be raffles of three harvest items.

Michele Wiley says, “History is not that long ago, and we’re making history today! This is a great opportunity to sit down with island neighbors — long-standing and newcomers — and enjoy the heritage we all share.

“And it’s a happy, fun way to support the Historical Museums — both the Crow Valley School, and the ‘log cabins’ Museum in town, which will host  the Chamber of Commerce’s next ‘Business at Sunset’ mixer in October.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Museum on North Beach Road in town, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weds-Sat, and from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sundays through September. Then winter hours are Weds-Sat from 12 to 3 p.m. The museum will be closed in January.

The Crow Valley School Museum is also open Wednesdays and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. until October 1.
