The Orcas Island Elementary School building experienced major flooding over the weekend, and will be closed tomorrow, Monday, May 11, according to Cathy Ferran, assistant to district superintendent Eric Webb. The flooding appears to have started (accidentally) upstairs in the custodial closet.

Ferran wrote on Facebook, “We will keep you posted, as we know more. For now, we are working on restoring power to the southern part of the building and doing all that we can to dry things out.”
