Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Odd Fellows Hall, 7 to 10 p.m.
Contradance with the Cookies this Saturday night!
Come work up an appetite for Thanksgiving with a fun night of community dancing. If you are a regular contradancer this a great band and caller. If you have never contradanced, come give it a go!
No experience necessary. All the dances will be explained and called, and there are always folk willing to lead you through.
Music is provided by “The Cookies.” This gender-imbalanced band features the fiddle playing of Miche-Baker Harvey, with Jean Geiger on banjo and guitar, Cathy Britell playing bass and autoharp, percussionist extraordinaire Cat Fox and Eric Hardee playing hammered dulcimer to round out the sweet sounds of The Cookie Stringband.
Amy Wimmer will teach and call the dances with just the right amount of spices.
Suggested donation $5 per person, $10 per family to cover the cost of the band and hall, kids welcome. For further information. rachelbishop@yahoo.com,(360) 376-5003 or oddshall.org/
