Dan Raphael will be the featured guest at the Artsmith Salon on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The event will be at Fire Smokehouse and Grill in Eastsound.
A long-time Portland resident, Dan Raphael is active as a reading arranger (a monthly series that ran for 13 years and Poetland with 80 poets in eight venues over a seven-hour span), publisher (NRG magazines & 26 Books), and performer.
Impulse and Warp: The Selected 20th Century Poems contains work from Dan’s first 13 books, representing over 26 years of writing.
Dan’s poems have appeared in over 300 magazines, anthologies and websites. He has performed his work at over 200 venues, including Bumbershoot, Powell’s Books, Burning Word, Red Sky, Eastern Oregon U, Portland Jazz Festival and Wordstock. His CD, “Children of the Blue Supermarket,” with two recordings with jazz sax and drums Rich and Carson Halley, will be released in February.
Copies of Impulse & Warp: The Selected 20th Century Poem, “Children of the Blue Supermarket,” and some books of newer works including Breath Test and Showing Light a Good Time will be available for purchase at the salon.
