It’s important for San Juan County to have a seat at these discussions. Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom Counties are mentioned as the areas affected by the bridge collapse, but San Juan County is directly affected.
San Juan County officials are very concerned about the economic impacts caused by the bridge closure, and are in touch daily with the Visitors Bureau and 3 Chambers of Commerce.
Luckily, our elected officials, including Senator Kevin Ranker, are staying on top of this issue. Hopefully, this discussion will include San Juan County as one of those directly affected by this highway closure.
