Scrooge visited by Marley’s Ghost, one of several puppets created by Bethany Marie

A highlight of this year’s production of “A Christmas Carol” is the puppet mastery of Bethany Marie.

The Christmas “Ghosts” will be available following the 2 p.m. Saturday matinee performance so that children of all ages may touch and “talk to” the ghosts made by Bethany Marie and helpers. Bethany came to Orcas Island earlier this year on a sabbatical, from a career in puppetry of all genres in New York City.

“Children who may be frightened by the puppets will be able to see ‘inside’ them and may enjoy their experience of ‘A Christmas Carol’ more,” says Bethany. And those with a fresh, childhood imagination may enjoy the artistry of an accomplished puppeteer at Orcas Center.
