For birth-5 year olds: Music Together with Miss Mary. Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. starting on Wednesday, September 28. There will be a free demo class at the Funhouse on Wednesday, September 14 at 9 a.m. Classes are available based on sufficient enrollment. To register please email Mary at missmarysisland@gmail.com.
For school age children: The Funhouse Afterschool Program starts on Wednesday, September 7! First graders and up can come to the Funhouse after school for classes, clubs, homework time, fun activities, supervised free-play, and more! Fall classes/clubs include Sewing Club, Science Club, Pokémon Club, Robotics Club, Fiber Arts class, and multiple art classes! For questions about the Funhouse Afterschool program, please email Emilie@thefunhouse.org. Also, 6th graders and up can join our Junior Staff Program. This is a perfect first step in gaining job skills. Pick up an application at the Funhouse front office.
For middle school students: Get Real! A class for 7th and 8th graders led by Beth Jenson. Get Real is a leadership group about real stuff: real relationships, human weirdness, social issues, sexuality, school, and life. Tuesdays from 5:30- 7 p.m. starting on September 27. For high school students: The 13th annual college counseling program is October 4 and 5. College counselors and financial advisors will be coming to the island to do presentations at the school for students, and individual college counseling sessions for families. There will be a financial aid talk the evening of October 5. Please email Emilie@thefunhouse.org for more information.
Other Funhouse opportunities! There will be a mentor training on Tuesday, September 20 for new mentors! If you are interested in being a mentor, please email sarah@thefunhouse.org. Funhouse kids are planning and hosting a Halloween party for the community on October 28 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. There will be an intergenerational game day at Orcas Senior Center on Wednesday, October 19 for Funhouse and Senior Center members to play their favorite board games together!
