Chamber's New Festival and other holiday weekend events on the 4th!

Festival on the 4th brings family fun, performance, and music

The Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce has created a new daytime event (11 am – 4 pm) for Monday, July 4. This new event will feature booths and games put on by Chamber member businesses and organizations. There will also be live entertainment on the band shell, including music, readings, and other performers.

Executive Director Lance Evans says, “This will be great entertainment for the entire family. Set aside that day and time and join us for a great new way to celebrate the 4th of July on Orcas Island!”

The Orcas Island Parent-Teacher-Student Association ( PTSA ) will host four booths: a goldfish toss, a dunk tank, a kissing booth, and a photo booth. Money raised will be put directly back into the PTSA for rollerskating and the weekend pack program!

Musicians and performers who would like to take part in this year’s first Festival on the 4th are also encouraged to email Susan Gudgell, or call the Chamber (376-2273) to learn more.

Friday, July 01

THE MET

Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, live in HD. Patricia Racette sings the title role in the late Anthony Minghella’s stunning production of Puccini’s tragedy, a new classic of the Met repertory that opened in the 2006-07 season. Orcas Center at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 2

ORCAS ISLAND FIRE & RESCUE PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Meal includes their famous firehouse Pancakes, eggs to your liking, sausage, milk, juice, coffee, or hot chocolate. Along with breakfast you will be able to enjoy many displays, engine tours and “Sparky, The Fire Pup”. Cost: $7.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Children. Eastsound Fire Hall from 7 a.m.—11 a.m.

HISTORY MUSEUM’S HISTORICAL DAYS FAIR

Exhibits, booths, fun galore on the Village Green from 10 a.m.—4 p.m.

FIRST ANNUAL ‘FESTIVAL ON THE 4TH’ ON THE VILLAGE GREEN

This new event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, and will feature booths and games, music, patriotic readings and other performers. We have reserved the Village Green and the band shell for the day, with the promise of a fun & festive atmosphere for all. Set aside that day and time and join us for a great new way to celebrate July 4 on Orcas Island from 11 a.m.—4 p.m.
