||| FROM CENTER FOR WHALE RESEARCH |||
This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the Southern Residents and the beautiful, interconnected ecosystem in which we have been studying these extraordinary whales.

Since 1976, the Center for Whale Research has cataloged every individual in the endangered Southern Resident killer whale population. Their survival, reproduction, and health are all linked to the same interconnected ecosystem.
From the open ocean connecting to the Elwha River, we are implementing projects that help support the Southern Residents’ primary prey, Chinook salmon. Learn About CWR’s Ecosystem Approach to Saving the SRKWs
This is the Earth we are grateful to study and committed to fighting for. Thank you for being part of this work.
Happy Earth Day from the entire CWR team!
