We hope you have had the opportunity to be out on the water.

We have one class of Boat America currently pending. It starts Tuesday, September 7. This may be our last class for 2021

Washington State Parks administers the recreational boating programs in our state. Boat America is a boating safety class approved by the National Association of Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) for mandated boater education classes. Successful completion of Boat America qualifies you to purchase the WA State Boater Education Card. After the class, you will submit a copy of your class certificate and $10 to WA State Parks, for a one-time purchase of the Boaters Education Card.

The fee for the class using a digital book downloaded and paid separately is $20.  If you wish to receive a printed book, the charge for the class is $30. Payment must be made to confirm the registration.

Folks may register using this GOOGLE forms link  – or visiting our website.

They may pay registration fees  here:  https://paypal.me/USCGaux13001?locale.x=en_US   If anyone prefers to make a direct payment through a cash app (Venmo, Cash app, Zelle, Square, etc.), please pay to email address BoatingSafetyWA@gmail.com. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is received. The digital book download is available HERE. There is a $4.99 charge at the time you order. Please download it when you purchase it. Apparently the download code expires after a specified time. Printed workbooks are available, by US mail. Orders for printed books need to be received by Aug 31

We have also established a Boating Resources folder at this link.

Feel free to bookmark or explore the documents there and download anything that you see as helpful.  I have printed/hard copies available of nearly all these materials, so if you would like some of them, let me know.  The most helpful items are probably the WA State Adventures in Boating Handbook, followed by the Federal Regulations for Recreational Boating, and the Navigation Aids Brochure.

Remember
  • Participants must attend all four evenings, to be eligible to take the exam.
  • It is fine to share a device during the lesson sessions, and it is fine to share books.
  • Friday, there will be a closed book exam. For the exam, each participant will need their individual email address and Zoom online access.
