The Cancer Support Group will hold a barbecue to celebrate two years serving the community on Thursday, July 12 at 5 p.m. outside the Fireside Room of the Orcas Island Community Church.

The event is open to all who have attended at any time in the past two years whether as a cancer patient, a survivor, or a family member or friend of someone stricken with cancer. We want to honor the friendships and support that have been shared through the group over this time.

The Cancer Support Group is a no-cost confidential program that meets on the second Thursday of each month. The group shares their experiences with each other and provides support as each one goes through their specific walk on the journey. During the last year the group has been honored to have highly qualified guest speakers who have provided valuable information on a variety of topics related to cancer.

This event is a party of celebration for the group. Please RSVP so organizers will know how many are coming. We look forward to seeing everyone, including old friends for a return visit. For further information or RSVP’s call Bogdan or Carol at 376-4198.
