From an in-tune dreamy player piano, to a wall of clocks all keeping the time of far-off places—it was a pleasant late summer evening party on Tuesday, August 26.
Sponsored by the Orcas Chamber of Commerce, Gavin Glenn Walstrom of Asher & Olive Catering celebrated the opening of his new Orcas event venue ‘The Aviator’—located in the setting of an airplane hangar off of the Eastsound Airport at 190 Commercial Park Road. The event was open to the public.
Among the guests were Walstrom’s extended family. During a brief speech, he made sure to fully credit his loved ones—most of all his grandparents for the support and help they have offered to him with this new event facility. Walstrom’s family has been coming to Orcas since 1953, resulting in his inspiration to choose Orcas for his business.
Walstrom also thanked everyone who made this event possible: Orcas Events, Sugar Baby Specialty Cakes, Magic Air Bi-Plane Tours, KF Designworks Photography, Sallie Bell Designs, The Office Cupboard, Mike Buckner, Tom and Mary Lue Walstrom, Kelly O’Brien, and Steve and Mary Miller.
The Aviator provides indoor/outdoor weddings and events, with a unique view of the runway and the famous North Beach Sunsets.
Asher & Olive has also recently catered the 2014 Annual Funhouse Gala. For more information about Asher & Olive or the Aviator, contact Gavin at gavin@asherandolive.com, or visit their Facebook page.
