In recognition of Poetry Month, and to celebrate our treasure trove of Orcas Island poets, Orcas Issues is pleased and honored to offer daily poetry during April.
THAT SONG INSIDE YOUR HEART
— by Ed Wilson —
That song inside your heart
is not forbidden. It’s allowed.
It need not be silent or hidden.
Give it voice. It’s aloud.
And when you lose all fear
of being heard above a whisper,
speak up, up, up
– all the way up to a LOUD,
loud enough to echo!
In the company of like-minded poets,
that song inside your heart
is not forbidden. It’s allowed,
it’s aloud, it’s a loud (loud, loud).
