The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival is proud to announce internationally renowned pianist Jeffrey Kahane in a special Salon Concert Friday, April 17th at 6 p.m.

Kahane will perform the incredible Goldberg Variations BWV 988 by J.S. Bach in a private home on Orcas. “The Goldberg Variations are Bach’s acknowledged keyboard masterpiece. There is no greater living exponent of this monumental work than Jeffrey Kahane,” notes Jon Kimura Parker. “I heard him perform the Goldberg Variations in New York 20 years ago, and it completely changed my understanding of Baroque music.”

Kahane is in his 18th Season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. He has given recitals in the nation’s major music centers, and appears as soloist with major orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony.

Following the concert, guests will enjoy a reception featuring hors d’oeuvres by Café Olga and Thurston Wolfe wine. Tickets are $75. Seating is very limited, so please reserve soon! Email joyce@oicmf.org or call 360-376-6636.
