Wednesday, March 18, 5:30 p.m., Emmanuel Episcopal Church
— from Bea vonTobel —
The Orcas branch of the Lutheran Church in the San Juans invites all to attend the upcoming Wednesday service at 5:30pm, where the Holden Evening Prayer will be sung. This worship setting was composed by Marty Haugen at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat at the head of Lake Chelan, and is well-known across many denominations. It is well-suited to the contemplative nature of Lent. Weather permitting, to enhance the contemplative experience, you might precede the service with a walk through the labyrinth.
The service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal church on March 18, and will be followed by a soup and bread supper in the parish hall, with assistance from the Episcopal congregation.
All are welcome to attend.
