Monday August 22, 7:30, Odd Fellows Hall

by Sharon Abreu

All are invited to a benefit concert and poetry reading on Monday, August 22 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall in Eastsound.

The event is to help Morgan Meadows and her family, members of our community for several years. Morgan has been striving as a single mom to provide a secure home for her four children. A few months ago, she got sick and was unable to work for three months, which got her behind in her payments. Now she’s on the mend and motivated to catch up.

Morgan LOVES to work! With her entrepreneurial spirit intact, she’s working to get a small business going while securing the home in OPAL for which she waited six years. Morgan is seeking a hand-up to avoid foreclosure and help her new business.

We’ll enjoy a fun and inspiring evening of music, art and poetry!

Sharon Abreu & Michael Hurwicz, and special guests The Parking Angels, will perform.

You can bring a poem or song to share. If you’re an artist or craftsperson with pieces you’d like to donate for the event, you’ll receive 50% of the proceeds on your items sold.

To contribute art or crafts for the silent auction, or if you’d like to share a song or poem, please contact Sharon Abreu at 376-5773 to be added to the program.

You can visit Morgan’s website at: www.VisionOnOrcas.com

Suggested donation is a sliding scale of $10-$20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
