Orcas Fly-In continues at the Port of Orcas. Aircraft displays, take-offs and landings and the Snack Shack. All welcome to look.

Cement Sculpture Class Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be a very intense workshop, so be ready.  Bring old clothes, gloves, and any favorite plastering tools or safety equipment you would like to use.  All materials and tools necessary will be provided.  Under the big top at the upper lot behind Orcas Center.  Cost is $145 plus $50 for supplies. Love Letters at the Grange.  The history of the love of friends, presented through a series of letters. Presented by The Actors Theater of Orcas Island with DD Glaze and Fred Whitridge.  7:30 p.m. See Friday, July 31. While this play is suitable for all ages, younger children may not understand the issues of this play.  Tickets are $10 and are available at Darvill’s or at the door.

British Soccer Camp. All week long throughFriday, August 7 @ Buck Park.  This program is for ages 4 to 15 and for all ability levels.  Individual foot-skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, and daily tournament play will be included.  Participants will receive their own ball and T-shirt.  At Buck Park. Orcas Storyfest “World of Stories” events begin and go through Saturday, August 8.

Increase Charitable Giving – Decrease Income and Estate Taxes. 4-5:30 p.m. at  the Eastsound Fire Hall. Eastsound Planning Review Committee Monthly meeting 2 – 3:40 p.m. at the Senior Center. Note early meeting time to accommodate the Town Hall Meeting.

Special Town Hall Public Meeting to be held Thursday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Hall. Orcas Council Members Richard Fralick and Gene Knapp will be joined by County Administrator Pete Rose and County Auditor Milene Henley. Topics for discussion include a countywide property tax increase, the current county budget crisis, the Uplands’ Critical Areas Ordinance, the Shoreline Master Plan Update, the Eastsound peddling and sign ordinances and other important issues facing the County.
