Ridership grows since 2007
I am happy to report that the system carried more than 2.5 million riders during July 2013 and that this was the busiest July since 2007! Compared to July 2012, we are up 4.1 percent for total riders, 2.8 percent for vehicles and drivers, and 5 percent for passengers. Help us continue this trend by enjoying a scenic ferry ride on our beautiful Puget Sound waters and Go Somewhere!
Plan ahead this weekend for travel in the San Juan Islands
Lopez Island is hosting The Retreat on Saturday, Aug. 17. Customers should expect a heavy increase in passenger and vehicle traffic to Lopez beginning Friday, Aug. 16 and continuing through Sunday Aug. 18.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, a 9:55 p.m. sailing from Lopez to Anacortes will be offered to alleviate extra traffic departing Lopez after the event. Also, Friday Harbor is hosting the San Juan County Fair Aug. 14-17, which will increase congestion on the island routes. You can leave your car behind, and catch a free ride on the fair’s shuttle van from the Friday Harbor terminal to the main gate of the fair.
