From WSF

Please plan ahead for heavy traffic this Fourth of July weekend. We encourage customers to walk on instead of taking their vehicles. Paid parking is available at the Anacortes terminal. The San Juan routes will operate on the regular summer sailing schedule.

However, additional service has been authorized, if needed, for the evenings of June 29-July 1 and July 4-5. These additional sailings will be added based on need, at the discretion of the terminal supervisors, and will supplement the scheduled service to and from all of the islands.

These additional sailings are limited by the availability of boats and crews. One additional westbound sailing can be added for Wednesday evening, two for Thursday, and one for Friday. For Monday and Tuesday one additional eastbound sailing can be added, plus a second on Tuesday. Again, these are all on an as-needed basis at the discretion of the terminal supervisors.

Traffic to and from Sidney is also expected to be heavy during the holiday weekend, and travelers are encouraged to make reservations, see the WSF website at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries
