The monthly Writers Roundtable will be held Saturday, August 17 from 1-3 p.m. at the Public Library on Rose Street in Eastsound. The topic will be “Our Writing Lives: Reflections, Suggestions, Inspirations.”
JoEllen Moldoff, Facilitator, says, “Join in an open-ended conversation with fellow writers. Share your writing experiences, tips, resources, ways to deal with dry spells, publishing matters, favorite writers…whatever you feel would be encouraging for others to hear. We will have time for writing, as well as sharing work in progress.
“All are welcome!”
When I Met My Muse
I glanced at her and took my glasses
off–they were still singing. They buzzed
like a locust on the coffee table and then
ceased. Her voice belled forth, and the
sunlight bent. I felt the ceiling arch, and
knew that nails up there took a new grip
on whatever they touched. “I am your own
way of looking at things,” she said. “When
you allow me to live with you, every
glance at the world around you will be
a sort of salvation.” And I took her hand.
