Jane Alden will be presenting a workshop on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night or What You Will” Mondays April 4 through May 23 at the Orcas Island Library, 1:00 to 2:30pm.

Jane has studied, performed, directed, produced, taught, read and loved Shakespeare’s work for over 40 years.  “I have found that the most profoundly satisfying way to the plays is to approach them the way actors and directors do…..with an eye to bringing them to life on the stage.  The enthusiasm and energy generated by this approach in the previous workshop on “Antony and Cleopatra” confirms for me that this is so and I am looking forward to applying this method of discovery to the wonderful “Twelfth Night”.

This workshop is for everyone, no matter how familiar they may be with Shakespeare, “Twelfth Night,” or theatre.  Shakespeare was and is for all people.  It was meant to be perceived as a living art, seen and enjoyed by everyone, not something just for actors, directors, or an elite class of academics.

This workshop is limited to 10 participants and the cost is $65  for 8 weeks.  Please sign up at the library.  Questions?  Please contact Kathy Lunde, 376-4985 or klunde@orcaslibrary.org.
