The School of the Salish Sea announces a Friday class for children in grades 3-5. It offers a Waldorf curriculum main lesson followed by activities such as wood working, puppet and doll making, puppet plays and performances, needle felting, sewing, paper crafts, painting, cooking, hiking, games, and field trips.

Waldorf teacher Ronna McEldowney will be providing this weekly class starting January 8th. McEldowney is the author of the self-published book, Enlightened Parenting: What Every Child Wishes For & What Every Parent Wants To Give.

She has 32 years of experience as a Waldorf teacher. A pioneer of the Waldorf model of early education, she has helped start five schools based on education which integrates play and practical tasks with learning. The history of Waldorf education on Orcas Island goes back over 30 years.
