Disaster Emergency Management of San Juan County and Friday Harbor

National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for the San Juan Islands and most of Western Washington. An unseasonably strong front is expected to come ashore late afternoon Friday and into Friday night.

Current forecast is for the the possibility of gusts upwards of 60 mph. This is not a storm that would normally cause the islands too many problems, but with leaves making trees more vulnerable to wind, boats back in the water, and people in a more spring-like state of mind, this event is worth mentioning.
