Many years ago (at least ten, so I’m told) the quest began to locate a public shower somewhere in Eastsound. After unsuccessful attempts to locate it at the Public Library, at the airport, or in a portable trailer, it was finally adopted into the Eastsound Village Green bathroom facility upgrade.
Like everything else in the past two years, the project encountered supply chain challenges. The proper showerhead and bench finally arrived and have been installed to the satisfaction of our Building Inspector.
Please join us this Friday, December 3 at 1 p.m. on the Village Green for a brief celebration and a glass of spiced apple cider.
Bring quarters if you would like a hot shower. Towels and soap are advisable as well and available at the Orcas Community Resource Center across the street should you need them.
