The top three priorities listed by citizens participating in the planning process in round-table discussions were:

  2. Hazardous waste drop-off
  3. Construction waste re-use/recycling

Curbside pickup ranked last.

A continued public hearing to approve the resolution adopting the plan is set for 2:45 p.m. September 11 during the county Council’s meeting in the legislative building at 55 Second Street [Friday Harbor’

An ordinance passed in February specifies the Level of Service for route collection. County residents are not required to sign up for collection service, but the plan states their alternative is to self haul to the mainland.
