||| FROM DIANNE MACONDRAY FOR ORCAS MASTER GARDENERS |||
On October 19th. a small contingent of the Orcas Master Gardeners harvested Mason and Leaf Cutter Bee cocoons from nesting materials at the Orcas School garden.
The group cleaned up the cocoons for winter storage and fed any parasitic insects to the school garden chickens. The cocoons will be returned to the garden come spring.

How lovely! Are you willing to share information for the rest of us on how to provide cover and nesting sites for the early bees – and what materials to use? Much appreciation; it all helps if home gardeners also have the information on how to do this for mason, leaf cutter bees, bumblebees, and other early pollenators that need nesting sites.
