The Nest at the Eastsound waterfront, owned and operated by Cindy Morgan

Cindy Morgan of The Nest will be sharing her creative flair with the members of the Orcas Island Garden Club at their annual Christmas Tea on Wednesday, December 8th.  Holiday cheer will abound with Cindy showing unique Christmas decorating ideas focusing on using things people already have at home.

Cindy is well-known on Orcas for her amazing flower arranging and her beautifully furnished shops, from the original location in the Cottage Company to the lower corner of the Windermere building on Main Street.

Cindy moved to Orcas in 1980 and worked in several restaurants and hotels over the years before she became a full time potter. When the option to open The Nest came up, Cindy thought she could run her shop during the day then do pottery in the evenings.  The flowers won her heart and Nest opened in 2006 at its original location in the small Cottage Company building.  After 3 years, The Nest had outgrown that space and moved to its current location. “The added bonus of having heat and running water in the new location has been life changing.” says a grateful Morgan.

The Nest offers fresh cut flowers using locally sourced flowers in the spring, summer, and fall, as well as a wide variety of house plants and gifts for individuals and special occasions.

Please join Cindy and the members of the Orcas Island Garden Club at 10:30 on Wednesday, December 8th at the Orcas Center. For more information, contact Marlyn at 360-376-6110 or visit the website at www.orcasislandgardenclub.org
