||| FROM CAROL DAPOGNY for ORCAS ISLAND LIBRARY |||

Orcas Island Library presents a hybrid speaker event with Barbara Bentley (Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Ecology and Evolution, SUNY Stony Brook) on the Library’s south lawn and by Zoom meeting on September 16 at 6 p.m.

Barbara Bentley will speak about gardens and climate change. Her research focused on the effects of global change on lupines. She will be talking about the cascading effects of elevated CO2 on a nitrogen fixation by bacteria in the root nodules. It’s actually a positive take on a serious problem.

To attend in-person, RSVP to cdapogny@orcaslibrary.org.
To attend by Zoom meeting, register at this Zoom meeting link.
