Doe Bay resident Harry Patton led the parade with historic parade master and song leader Tony Lee. Parade Marshal and Fire and Rescue Chief Kevin O’Brien, with his son Colin on his lap, manned the stern vehicle of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The Community Band on their flatbed truck played “An Irish Jig/McNamara’s Band” and “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” and Patty and Vince Monaco outfitted those paraders who needed a little more green bling.
Probably more people walked in the parade than watched from the sidewalk, and at least one parade observer followed the route to pick up the candy tossed from the paraders to the waiting throngs.
Following the noon parade, many retired to the White Horse Pub to enjoy a specialty menu and a round of rousing and melancholy Irish songs.

A huge shout out to all of you that made it possible for my dad to celebrate St. Pattys day! I am so happy that at 91 he is still making wonderful memories.

So good to see Harry and all the “Irish”. As the head drummer, it was again a wonderful event..now let’s head for the pub.
