Mark your Calendars, hazardous waste generators! San Juan County Public Works has scheduled this year’s round-up events as follows:
- SAN JUAN ISLAND: Saturday, April 21, 10 am to 2 pm at the County Solid Waste Facility
- ORCAS ISLAND: Saturday, May 5, 10am to 2 pm at the Orcas Island Solid Waste Facility
- LOPEZ ISLAND: Sunday, May 6 , noon to 3 pm, at the Lopez Island solid waste facility.
Other islanders are invited to participate in these collections. Please stay tuned to Public Works website for more information about the collections, including a list of FLAMMABLE, TOXIC, CORROSIVE, and REACTIVE waste materials that will be accepted at the collections, as well as disposal fees, and other updates; click on “Hazardous Wastes” at https://www.sanjuanco.com/publicworks/Haz_waste.aspx
And watch for posters and newspaper display ads on your island for additional information.
Businesses that have hazardous wastes to dispose of must pre-register at 370-0503 in order to participate in these collections.
