We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about an upcoming planned power outage for San Juan County that will impact our services. To ensure a smooth transition during this period, we kindly request your assistance in taking a few simple steps.
Scheduled Power Outage Details:
- SEPTEMBER 25 @ 10:00 PM – SEPTEMBER 26 @ 6:00 AM
- SEPTEMBER 26 @ 10:00 PM – SEPTEMBER 27 @ 6:00 AM
- SEPTEMBER 27 @ 10:00 PM – SEPTEMBER 28 @ 6:00 AM
Action Required:
To minimize any potential damages to your equipment during the power outages, we kindly request that you follow these steps:
1. Shutdown Your Modem:
Prior to the scheduled power outage, please power down your modem by unplugging it from the electrical outlet. This will help protect your modem from any potential power surges when the electricity is restored.
2. Restart Your Modem After Power Is Restored:
Once the power is back on and stable, plug your modem back into the electrical outlet and wait for it to fully restart. This typically takes a few minutes. Your internet service should return to normal once the modem is operational.

Please remember that in addition to your modem, computers, some printers, and other '"Smart'" devices are potentially vulnerable to power surges!
Hey, OPALCO! Why didn’t you do this in the Summer, when it was warm? Waiting for reply. Spirit Eagle.
Spirit Eagle – if you check Opalco’s web page, you’d see that the upcoming power outage is related to work that Puget Sound Energy and BPA are doing on Fidalgo. Opalco had no say in scheduling the timing of the work.
some co2/smoke detectors will cherp when power is off however they will be silent if the backup battery is dead, be careful during the outages
