The reporting deputy was dispatched to a Suspicious Circumstance in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy arrived and made contact with the involved parties. One subject was transported to Peace Island Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.
16-006752 Found Property 10:40:42 09/07/16
On this date a wallet and contents were turned in by the National Park Service, found in the South Beach area. Using contacts thru AAA card and a credit card, contact was made with the owner, who had already returned to Illinois. Arrangements will be made to return the wallet by FedEx thru Post San Juan.
16-006753 Traffic Violation 10:50:45 09/07/16
A Friday Harbor resident reported being harassed during a traffic altercation near Cape San Juan. This incident occurred on San Juan Island. One of the drivers was issued a citation for Reckless Driving.
16-006759 Court Order Violation 12:40:50 09/07/16
Deputies were dispatched to an Order Violation in Friday Harbor. The Respondent was taken into custody for failing to comply with the order.
16-006760 Wanted Person 12:53:48 09/07/16
A transient Friday Harbor resident was arrested for a local warrant pertaining to a dog bite. The subject was taken into custody and released a short time later once he made contact with District Court personnel.

A transient Friday Harbor resident was arrested for a local warrant pertaining to a dog bite. The subject was taken into custody and released a short time later once he made contact with District Court personnel. While in custody he was trespassed from a local establishment.
16-006767 Welfare Check 15:29:57 09/07/16
Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence to conduct a welfare check on a depressed teenager. It was determined that the teenager was not in immediate danger and that the parent planned to seek medical assistance for the teenager. A report was completed.
16-006768 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:44:37 09/07/16
A citizen received some suspicious paperwork supposedly from a bank. There are no
suspects at this time.
16-006769 Harassment 16:28:38 09/07/16
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a Port Stanley Road residence for a harassment complaint. The complaint which resulted from an on-going neighbor dispute was resolved after the neighbors spoke and agreed to continue to keep the lines of communication between them open regarding their concerns.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a possible order violation. The Deputy investigated the incident and determined that the person in question did not violate the order. This report is for information only.
16-006772 Accident-HitRun 18:45:28 09/07/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a hit and run. The victim reported that an unknown person hit his vehicle that had been parked in a parking lot. Currently there are no suspects.

A deputy responded to an unknown injury traffic collision on Orcas Island. An investigation and report were completed.

Deputies recovered a drivers license at a store in Friday Harbor that was used in an attempt to purchase alcohol.
16-006810 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:07:28 09/08/16
Deputies responded to the Port Of Friday Harbor to investigate a Domestic Dispute. Deputies found an assault took place and an arrest was made.
16-006812 Parking Problem 21:47:12 09/08/16
Parking ticket issued for vehicle parked for sale. This vehicle was given a written warning for this violation two days ago.
16-006819 Trouble Unknown 23:10:45 09/08/16
Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence for a possible DV assault. Involved persons first claimed an assault occurred but then denied their claims. Both refused to cooperate with the investigating deputies. Subjects were separated for the evening and a report was completed.

Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence for an unwanted person complaint. The unwanted person agreed to depart and a report was completed.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for an alleged hit and run collision involving a bank of mailboxes. The driver was located and agreed to repair the damage

An Orcas deputy responded to a report of vandalism to some construction equipment in Eastsound. Additional patrols have been added and a report was completed.
16-006833 Fraud 09:42:06 09/09/16
A deputy responded to a report of fraud that occurred on Orcas Island. An investigation was completed and a report filed.
16-006835 Accident-Injury, Traffic 10:22:13 09/09/16
A Deputy was dispatched a single vehicle collision with possible injury and entrapment. Driver was extricated and evaluated and released from the medical center. Collision report was completed. No infractions issued.
16-006840 Found Property 13:16:22 09/09/16
A complainant brought a wallet and contents to the Sheriff’s Office. She stated the items had been left at the Port Office for several days, and no contact had been received from the owner.
16-006844 DUI 17:09:54 09/09/16
Friday Harbor deputies received reports of erratic driving by a green truck. The truck was stopped and the driver was contacted, interviewed and arrested for DUI. He was transported to the station, processed and given a court date. His truck was impounded.
16-006853 Noise Complaint /not dogs 21:04:09 09/09/16
A Deputy responded to an Eastsound address in regards to shots fired. A subject was contacted several times and he refused to talk to law enforcement. An informational report was taken.

Deputies responded to a residence in Friday Harbor to settle a domestic dispute.
16-006875 Alarm 13:30:39 09/10/16
A Lopez Island deputy heard an alarm sounding inside a residence. Investigating further, the alarm was found to be smoke and carbon monoxide detectors activated within the home. The fire department was dispatched and the home ventilated.
16-006881 Fish & Game Violation 14:59:04 09/10/16
A Seattle man reported finding several dead waterfowl dumped on the beach on the Fisherman Bay Spit. A report was taken and the case referred to state Fish and Wildlife Police for investigation.
16-006885 Weapon Safekeeping 18:57:00 09/10/16
A deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Citizen Assist. The subject requested that his firearm be taken for safekeeping while the subject travels to Canada. The item was secured in evidence until the owner’s return.

A Lopez Island deputy was dispatched to the ferry landing to check on subjects reportedly drinking and throwing hatchets at nearby trees. When contacted, the driver denied any such behavior. He was not impaired so he was allowed to board the departing ferry.
16-006908 Citizen Assist 10:39:25 09/11/16
A Lopez Island deputy assisted a disabled motorist whose car would not start as the ferry line began moving to board the ferry. The car would not start and was ultimately pushed into the parking lot. The motorist missed the ferry.
16-006914 Domestic Dispute or Assault 13:53:26 09/11/16
San Juan deputies responded to a domestic dispute. Both parties were contacted. There was no physical contact or damage done. It was arranged for one of the parties to go stay with family until they both were calmer.
16-006924 Traffic Stop 19:59:07 09/11/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a known suspended driver in Eastsound. During the vehicle impound, drug paraphernalia was found. A search warrant was issued to search the vehicle. Evidence was gathered. The driver of the vehicle was released with a promise to appear in court.

A Lopez Island resident reported that goose hunters were trespassing on his property. The hunters were contacted by a deputy and they believed they had permission to hunt there. The hunters were reminded that they needed written permission from the landowner to hunt on private property.
16-006934 Civil Problem 08:42:01 09/12/16
Deputies responded to a theft in the downtown Eastsound area. An initial investigation was completed and an informational report was completed.
16-006936 Theft 08:51:53 09/12/16
Deputies were dispatched to contact via land-line a reporting party reference a theft in the downtown Eastsound area. A report was taken.
16-006941 Fish & Game Violation 14:45:31 09/12/16
A Shoreline man reported finding a dead marine mammal on Agate Beach on Lopez Island. A deputy went to the scene and photographed the carcass and a report was taken. The case will be referred to Fish and Wildlife Police.
16-006951 Controlled Substance Problem 18:39:04 09/12/16
A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound resort cabin in regards to found property that washed up ashore. The package appears to be drugs. No suspect or owner information known. A report was taken.
