A Lopez Island deputy was called regarding a neighbor’s dog creating a nuisance. The dog owner was cited for the dog running at large.

A man reported receiving threatening texts and voice messages from a former co-worker. Several options were offered, and the man wanted a deputy to simply tell the co-worker to stop. A statement was taken and an information report completed.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to check a vehicle parked on private property. The homeowner observed the vehicle via a web cam, and did not recognize it. An artist was painting a picture on the property. The property owner asked the subject to leave. No further action necessary.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report of a Malicious Mischief/Trespassing in Friday Harbor. Upon further investigation it was believed the suspect attempted entry into the garage with negative results. No further Information.

An Orcas deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Orcas Road. The driver was cited for speeding, 53 mph in a 35 mph zone.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to a local church regarding a subject trespassing. The subject was contacted and asked to move along. No further action was necessary.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor gave a subject a trespass warning for the Port of Friday Harbor Property. The subject was advised that if he returned he would be arrested for trespass.

Deputies responded to the Sandpiper Apartments to help with a civil stand by. While at the residence a white male was identified inside the apartment and placed in custody for an outstanding warrant out of Skagit County.

A Deputy responded to the 100 block of Airport Road, Lopez Island, for a vehicle in the ditch. The driver said he went into the ditch and got stuck while trying to turn around. There was no evidence of impairment. He was issued a ticket for not having valid plates on his vehicle.

Deputy found propped open rear door. Nothing appears to be missing or disturbed inside. The responsible did not answer her phone. I secured the door.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a vehicle theft. The vehicle was soon located nearby and was apparently misplaced by the owner.

A Deputy in Eastsound issued an infraction for cell phone use while driving and a warning for improper use of safety belt.

A Friday Harbor woman reported multiple violations of her DV no contact order. She provided the suspects text messages where he acknowledged what he was doing was illegal. The case and evidence were presented to the prosecutor for issuance of a warrant.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an intoxicated person. It was discovered that the person was under court order to not consume alcohol. This matter was referred to the probation department for violation of the court order.

A Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 2500 block of Center Road, Lopez Island. He identified additional violations after the stop and issued the driver a ticket for speeding, having no driver’s license and for having no vehicle liability insurance.

A Deputy was dispatched to a possible verbal argument aboard a boat in the Olga area. Boaters were getting away as I arrived. I heard no verbal argument. An informational report was taken.

A Deputy stopped a motorist in the 1300 block of Fisherman Bay Road, Lopez Island, and issued him a ticket for having expired vehicle registration and no proof of liability insurance.

The reporting deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Civil Issue that occurred in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy did a civil standby for the involved parties. No other action taken.

A Deputy retrieved a dog from an Aleck Bay Road resident on 07/15/16 after the dog came on to her property. The dog had no collar and efforts to identify the owner are on-going. The dog was placed in the Lopez Island kennel until the owner can be identified. Enforcement action pending.

A parking citation was issued for parking in the boat trailer only parking at the county boat launch on Orcas Island.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to a business in the village after a disruptive customer was harassing both other customers and employees. That customer had been removed from the premises prior to the deputy’s arrival. The customer was trespassed from the business by management.

A Lopez Island man reported being forced off the road twice by the same person and vehicle. The driver was continually yelling at the reporting person until the other driver drove off. The matter is under investigation.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Family Issue. The reporting deputy made contact. One subject was transported to the Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy took a report of an alleged child abuse case that occurred in another state. The case is under further investigation.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to a hit and run crash that destroyed an OPALCO switching box along Lopez Sound Rd. The crash caused a localized power outage beginning about 4 a.m. The occupants of the vehicle were extremely lucky, as the crash exposed live power lines carrying 7200 volts.

A Lopez Island woman asked that a subject be removed from her property and not return until she returned. The man was contacted and left the premises as requested. No further action necessary.

Deputies responded to the Peace Health ER for a dog bite. The victim is a family friend who is familiar with the dog and said he ‘startled’ the dog. Dog owner said the dog is current on all shots and health concerns. No further action required.

A Lopez Island man reported the theft of his bicycle from outside a Lopez Village business. The investigation continues.

The reporting deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Harassment which occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The victim advised that his tenant’s ex-girlfriend was continually coming onto his property. He requested that she be contacted and asked to not return
