Lopez Island Deputies responded to a suspected domestic violence incident on Mud
Bay Road on 12/21/16. The reporting person stated he heard loud threats of
violence coming from an unknown location near his residence. The Deputies were
unable to locate the involved person(s). A report was completed.

A Deputy responded to a Burglary in Eastsound. A report and photos were taken. The case is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in Friday Harbor. After further investigation it was found to be verbal only and parties separated for the evening.

A Lopez Island Deputy spoke with a citizen on 12/22/16 regarding a hit and run
complaint. The reporting person stated an unidentified motorist struck his
unoccupied car while it was parked at the Lopez Village Market on 12/21/16
between 1900 and 2000. A report was completed.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to report of traffic collision that occurred while boarding the ferry in Anacortes. A report was taken.
16-009373 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:49:38 12/22/16
Deputies responded to a residence on San Juan Island to investigate a domestic assault. Deputies found an assault did take place and one subject was taken into custody.

A Lopez deputy took a report of broken windows caused by debris blown by a helicopter landing. A report was completed.
16-009380 Burglary – Residential 15:54:54 12/23/16
A San Juan Island resident reported she found more missing items from a burglary that happened in January 2016. She was missing 20+ settings of Grand Baroque silverware. The suspect was arrested and convicted and is currently out on bail on the mainland. Investigation continues.
16-009383 Theft 18:54:03 12/23/16
A SJC Deputy took a report of a Commercial Burglary in Eastsound. Person(s) unknown gained entry to an Eastsound business and took $300 dollars. This case is under further investigation.

Deputies investigated a suspicious circumstance at a residence in Friday Harbor. Deputies found the incident was unfounded.
16-009389 Accident-NonInj 02:52:18 12/24/16
Lopez Island Deputies responded to a report of a roll over vehicle accident in
the 3700 block of Fisherman Bay Road. The involved vehicle, which left the scene prior to the Deputies arriving, was located unoccupied. An investigation is being conducted.
16-009392 Welfare Check 08:26:34 12/24/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a welfare check on a Lopez woman after an unusual phone call. The subject was found to be safe at home.
16-009400 Assault – Body Force 15:14:11 12/24/16
A victim and witness came to the Office to report an assault. While doing statements, the suspect came in to report these two had been trespassing in his house and he had to force them to leave. After investigation the second party was cited for assault and the trespass investigation continues.

Deputy responded to a roll over traffic accident on Cady Mountain Road. The
driver was trapped inside the vehicle and hanging inside by the seat belt. Ice
on the roadway was a factor in the accident.
16-009418 Animal at Large 13:24:44 12/25/16
A Lopez resident reported a found dog on the beach. The dog and owners were reunited.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on a person making unusual telephone calls. The subject was found safe and advised not to make any more similar calls. A report was taken.
16-009430 Domestic Dispute or Assault 10:43:25 12/26/16
Lopez deputies were dispatched for a domestic dispute. A Lopez man was found to have committed assault and criminal harassment, and was arrested.
16-009445 Traffic Hazard 21:05:37 12/26/16
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to assess a traffic hazard. Two 24″ diameter trees had been blown down by the wind, completely blocking the roadway. A Public Works crew was called to clear the hazard to reopen the road.

A SJC Deputy responded to an Eastsound Business regarding an attempted unlawful entry. It was discovered that an unidentified person had attempted to pick a door lock with a lock pick set. No entry had been made but the lock was damaged. The case is under further investigation.
16-009457 Unwanted Person 14:46:36 12/27/16
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to the library on a report of an unwanted person who was refusing to leave. That subject left the premises before the deputy arrived. A report was taken.
16-009459 Juvenile Problem 16:54:28 12/27/16
A Lopez Island deputy was called to the ferry landing after a teenage boy refused to board the ferry with the rest of the family, getting out of the car and walking away from the ferry. The boy was returned to his parents by the deputy with a promise of complying with his parents wishes.
16-009460 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 17:30:42 12/27/16
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate a suspicious vehicle. A local man was found gathering blowdown trees and limbs for firewood. No action was taken at the time, pending contact with the landowner regarding permission.

violence. Deputies arrived and conducted an initial investigation and a report
