Deputies responded to an Eastsound residence reference a theft. When deputies arrived it was determined the matter involved a landlord tenant matter. No further action was taken.

Orcas Deputies responded to an Eastsound residence in regards to an argument between a domestic couple. No physical altercation occurred. A report was made.

A 44 year old Lopez Island man was arrested for DUI after being stopped for speeding on Lopez. He was released with a citation to appear in District Court. His vehicle was impounded.

An Eastsound man reported a theft of tools from his residence. Investigation continues.

An Orcas Deputy was dispatched to a person refusing to leave a business. The subject left the business prior to law enforcement arrival. A report was made.

Found property was turned into the Orcas substation. It is unknown who the property belongs to at this time.

Contacted and warned subject for flipping off pharmacy staff and driving away
quickly. Subject apologized and admitted he made a mistake.

An Orcas resident reported that thieves had hacked his email account, and attempted to transfer money from a bank account. This occurred in another state and the case was forwarded to that agency.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor on driver for speed. Driver was issued an infraction for no insurance and warned for speeding.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a driver for cell phone use in Friday Harbor. Driver was issued an infraction for cell phone use while driving.

An Orcas resident called about someone on their property last night. They did not see who it was and requested extra patrols.

A Friday Harbor resident was observed driving erratically leaving South Beach Park. The complainant reported seeing the suspect vehicle damage a fence when leaving the area. I located the vehicle but we were unable to locate any damaged fence. I issued two unrelated infractions.

A Lopez Island woman reported a man knocked on her door and said he was from the Census Bureau. The woman refused to open the door because of the early hour and the man left. A deputy checked the area and did not find the man. No further action was taken.

An Eastsound resident learned that his identity had been stolen, and fraudulent accounts had been set up in California and Arizona. A report was completed for the credit reporting companies.

An Eastsound corporation reported illegal removal of trees from their property. The case was forwarded to code compliance.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a trespass. It was reported that someone had put up a tent on the property. The Deputy observed no one around the tent. This case is still under investigation.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a dinghy adrift off Turn Point. The dinghy was unoccupied with no identification found. It was taken back to Friday Harbor for safekeeping.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a driver for failing to stop at stop sign. The driver was cited for Driving While Suspended, infraction issued for failure to stop and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound establishment reference a hit and run. After conducting an initial investigation it was determined it was accidental and both Eastsound residence exchanged information. No further action was required.

Deputies responded to a report of a court violation. An Eastsound resident indicated the violation occurred the previous day. The initial investigation determined a crime didn’t occur. A report was completed.

Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound business in regards to a found wallet belonging to an out of county resident. The item was shipped back to the owner.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an animal at large. The Deputy contacted the owner of the dog and gave the owner a warning letter.

Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound residence in regards to an email fraud attempt. The Reporting persons did not suffer any loss. A report was made.

A cell phone was brought to the Sheriffs Office lobby. The cell phone, a white and silver Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy S, had a cracked screen and a purple and pink case on the back. The citizen posted the cell phone on Facebook to let them know it had been left at the Sheriffs Office. No further info.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island in reference to a Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. One subject was arrested and booked for Malicious Mischief 3rd DV.
