At approximately 05:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 26, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Egg Lake Road and Three Meadows Road on a report of a vehicle versus tree accident. Upon arrival the driver, a local Friday Harbor man, was found deceased.
It is unclear the exact cause of the accident and an investigation is underway. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
His name is being withheld pending notification of his family. It is believed that speed played a major role in the accident.
